Topic:
Have you recently found yourself either the owner of or a stakeholder
in a corporate governance and compliance initiative? Are terms like
ISO 9001-2000, 5900 Audit, SAS 70, Bill 198 and SOX causing your
PMO team and your project managers more stress and workload than
you thought possible? Where do you start? How do you gain acceptance
from your team and executives? Where do you find answers? How do
you ensure compliance BEFORE the auditor is in the door?
Project delivery teams are growing in importance as key drivers
toward corporate governance and compliance with organizations spending
increasingly significant amounts of capital and resources in projectized
initiatives. Chances are if you havent had exposure to this
type of corporate push, you likely will within the next few years
as all publicly traded organizations are bound by strict governance
practices and many more privately held organizations are joining
the movement toward high quality service delivery and demonstrated
corporate responsibility. These initiatives are more aligned with
traditionally accepted PMO best practices and methodologies than
you may think. Using what you know about project management and
PMO compliance and audit practices will have you well positioned
to effectively tackle these seemingly insurmountable corporate challenges.
